With so many options, especially for online classes, what makes My Brooklyn Pilates special? It’s 4AM, and I woke up with this thought on my mind. What DOES make us special?
Let me first start with my wonderful instructors. In a small staff we have a wide range of skills, training, and personalities - five professional dancers and/or choreographers; four with college degrees in education who are now applying their training and experience to the fitness world; three who are multi-lingual; one yogi/masseuse; one visual artist who uses her artistic eye to study the body in motion; one exceptional yogi with over 500 hours of international yoga training who is simultaneously a college professor; and one Doctor of Physical Therapy-in-training. Along with being a group of multifaceted people, the My Brooklyn Pilates staff is also kind, compassionate, understanding, encouraging, and inspiring, using their varying skills and experiences to guide their clients in their movement practices to better understand and feel at home in their bodies, create/maintain healthy movement habits, and find relief from pain and discomfort.
Along with this amazing group of movement professionals is the fact that My Brooklyn Pilates class sizes are small and one-on-one sessions are truly that. Each group class or one-on-one session is geared towards and
tailored to the clients. No class or session is cookie cutter or one-size-fits-all.
We understand that schedules are often crazy, so, to better suit the needs of our clients, classes and sessions are available online and in person and are offered morning, noon, and night and any day of the week. In addition to full-length classes, free mini workouts are available on YouTube (My Brooklyn Pilates). Also, it has always been a pet peeve of mine when studios/gyms offer discounted packages, but all it takes is missing a week of classes to lose out on that discount, because the packages expire so quickly. My Brooklyn Pilates packages NEVER expire.
Last but not least, My Brooklyn Pilates is truly for everyone. We meet you wherever you are in your movement practice. From the beginner to the professional, from the young to the young at heart, and from the fully able-bodied to the injured, there’s a place for you at My Brooklyn Pilates.
